Our People
Paul Fitzpatrick, CPA
In 1980 Paul graduated from Fairfield University with a BS degree in Accounting. While working for the Ernst and Whinney Accounting Group in New Haven, he completed the necessary requirements for his CPA license which he obtained in 1982. He joined the firm of T.J. Fitzpatrick and Company in 1984. The firm has been growing and expanding ever since, including a name change in 2006 to Diversified Financial Solutions, PC.
Paul specializes in tax planning and compliance services for individuals.
He has served as a member and officer of the Naugatuck Exchange Club and the Tribury Rotary. He is a board member and past president of the Naugatuck YMCA and currently volunteers as their Capital Campaign Chairman. Paul was born and raised in Naugatuck and currently resides in Cheshire with his wife Lisa and their two children.
Janet Walker, CPA
Janet graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northern Kentucky University with a B.S. Degree in Accounting. She is licensed in the state of Connecticut as a Certified Public Accountant. She joined the firm in 1998 and became a partner in 2004.
Janet specializes in trust, gift and estate administration and planning as well as individual tax return preparation and planning. She is also a licensed insurance broker and a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
She is an active member in her community as a board member of the Pomperaug Woods Board of Directors and State of Connecticut Gift and Estate Tax Committee.
Mrs. Walker resides in Southbury with her husband.
Pearse T. Hussey, CPA
Pearse is one of the managers of DFS. He is licensed in the State of Connecticut as a Certified Public Accountant.
After receiving a BS in Accounting from American International College, Pearse obtained his CPA license in the State of Connecticut. He was employed at the firm of Howard L. Page & Company, LLC, in Avon,Connecticut. He then moved on to become a senior associate with the international accounting firm of Urbach, Hacker, Young, in New Haven where he spent 2 years as a senior associate. Prior to joining forces with Diversified Financial Solutions, Pearse was a managing partner with the Lakeville firm of G & H Financial, LLC, in Lakeville, Connecticut.
Pearse’s expertise lies in providing accounting and tax services to a diverse client base which includes multi-state corporations, closely-held corporations, partnerships, and individuals. He also provides consulting on accounting and payroll computer solutions for small businesses. He currently serves on the Connecticut Society of CPA’s State Tax Committee, and is a certified QuickBooks Pro advisor.
Pearse lives in Litchfield county with his wife and 2 young children.
Kenneth J. Healy, Senior Accountant
Ken is a senior accountant at Diversified Financial Solutions, PC. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2005 with a BS in Accounting and the University of Notre Dame in 2006 with a MS in Accountancy. He has been employed at DFS since 2006.
He specializes in multi-state corporations, partnerships, small business accounting, individual taxation, estates, trusts, and tax-exempt entities. He also provides consulting on accounting and payroll computer solutions for small businesses. He is a certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor.
Ken currently resides in Naugatuck and serves on the Naugatuck Economic Development Commission and is the Finance Chair for the St. Francis - St. Hedwig School Board.
Our History
Diversified Financial Solutions, PC, formerly know as T.J. Fitzpatrick and Company began in 1949 by Paul Fitzpatrick's father as a traditional CPA firm offering accounting, auditing, and tax services. We have been servicing the surrounding Greater Waterbury CT area from our offices in Southbury and Naugatuck since Paul took over in 1984. The firm has developed over the years by adding business consulting, Estate and Probate accounting and tax services, and live and after-the-fact bookeeping services.
Our Credentials
We are a CT licensed Cerftified Public Accounting firm that participates in the Peer Review program administered by the State of Board of Accountancy and the Connecticut Society of CPA's.
Our professional CPA's are members of both the American Institute of CPA's and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Pearse Hussey and Ken Healy are both Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisors.
